BREATHE – Day 3, February 19, 2021 – 40 Day Lenten Journey

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

What if we had a playbook for life? A book that would speak to the depths of our spirit and help us discern what is true, what is right, what is good, what gives life, etc. What if that playbook gave us all we needed to navigate relationships, strengthen our effectiveness in leadership, guide us out our darkest valleys, and help us navigate when we are lost? What if the playbook was salve for a wounded heart and healing ointment for damaged emotions? Would it be our daily “go to” for nourishment, water, instruction, guidance, healing, life?

As we begin this 40 Day Lenten Journey all that is needed is that playbook – God’s Holy and mighty Word, The Bible. The very breath of God is whispered on each and every page waiting to speak to us. God’s Holy Word is the nourishment for our weary soul, the fire to ignite the passion and purpose He has placed within our spirit, and the truth we need to navigate this temporary world.

So today commit to the journey of being still and listening to the very breath of God whisper to you as you engage in the reading of His Holy Word. There are numerous apps, reading lists, devotional prompts, etc. to begin the journey. Even a concordance can help you engage with God’s Word by searching something that is on your heart and starting there. The still small voice of God is waiting, waiting for you to pick up His playbook for life and “taste and see that the Lord is good”. May you hear the whisper of the God-breathed scriptures awaken your tired and weary spirit and breathe life once again!
