THE WORD OF GOD IS LIFE!

WHEN WE STUDY THE HOLY SPIRIT COMES ALIVE IN US!

Studying God's Word is life-changing. Every time we open up the Bible we begin to engage the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit is alive and lives in you. It's God's Spirit. God wants you to study His Word. He wants to let His Word soak into your spirit so that you can begin to understand who He is and what He wants for your life. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to us all, because we all need to be guided when we read scripture. Look at what scripture says:

NO SEMINARY REQUIRED!

Studying God's Word is available to us all. So often we think we are not equipped to interpret scripture, but that's just not true. Studying God's Word could not be easier, and that's just what we want to create for you here below!

FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW

We created 4 simple steps that will help you engage on your own as you explore God's Word.  We also have a entire list of VIDEOS that will guide you into the scriptures as well.

1.  CHOOSE A TRANSLATION

Start by selecting a Bible translation that you find easy to read and understand. Popular options include the New International Version (NIV), English Standard Version (ESV), and the New Living Translation (NLT). Once you've chosen your Bible, set a regular schedule for reading. Consistency is key, so try to read daily, even if it's just for a few minutes. Establishing a routine helps you build the habit and ensures that you continually engage with the scriptures.

2.  PRAY FOR UNDERSTANDING

Taking time to pray to God before you begin to engage the text is important.  You are simply asking the Holy Spirit to guide you and reveal to you what God wants you to learn for that moment.  Scripture is filled with meaning on many different levels.  God will reveal to you exactly what you need to hear for that day.

3.  START WITH SOMETHING EASIER

If you're new to the Bible, begin with books that are easier to understand and more narrative-driven, such as the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) or the Psalms and Proverbs. These books provide a good mix of historical context, teachings of Jesus, and practical wisdom. As you become more comfortable, you can explore other parts of the Bible, including the Old Testament and the Epistles in the New Testament.

4.  REFLECT AND APPLY

After reading, take time to reflect on what you've read. Consider how the passage applies to your life and what lessons you can take from it. Journaling your thoughts and questions can be helpful. Try to apply the teachings to your daily life, whether it's through actions, attitudes, or decisions. This reflection and application process helps you internalize the scriptures and grow in your faith.
