Our culture constantly tells us to "follow your heart" and trust your deepest desires. While that sounds inspiring, it's not what Jesus taught. In fact, Scripture reminds us that our hearts can be easily misled by fear, pride, selfishness, and fleeting emotions (Jeremiah 17:9). Jesus never invited people to chase their desires—He invited them to follow Him.

When Jesus called His disciples, His message was simple: "Follow Me." Following Christ often means laying down our own plans, denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and trusting that His way is better than our own. As we walk with Him, He doesn't simply fulfill every desire of our hearts—He transforms our hearts so that our desires begin to reflect His.

The question isn't, "What do I want?" The better question is, "Where is Jesus leading me?" True joy, purpose, and peace are found not by following our hearts, but by following the One who gave His life for us.
