A Warm Welcome To You
Overcome wants to do one thing well. We want to be a light to the world. All we want is for everyone to discover how they can be a part of that light as well. That journey took us on some less traveled roads. We think you might like to travel with us!

About Us
Get to know more about what makes us different.
Well, this is a question that we finally have answered after thirty years of ministry. Check out some these below. We hope some of them resonate with you, and if they do maybe you will want to come ask even more questions. We are here to answer them all!
Why did you come to Pensacola?
Coming to Pensacola involved many things. First, we have family here, and they invited us to visit. When we came and drove over the big bridge we knew there was something special. We made more visits, and then got married here. We could not deny that God was calling us to do something in this area.
What do you want to do here in Pensacola?
Well, we want to do two things really well...SERVE and WORSHIP. When we started Ovecome, God spoke to both our hearts and asked us to focus on sending people first. Jesus did that as well. He sent people out to do mission work two by two. This is what we believe turns a heart more than a sermon. We always say that if you have a chance to serve or worship go serve! When we are able to make that a part of our spiritual DNA it effects our marriages, children, job, and everything else. Serving others impacts a heart than anything. We, then, believe that worship becomes a celebration of that service during the week. Worship simply becomes a time we honor what God has done, and it becomes less about us.
Do you want to grow a big church?
The answer to this absolutely NO! What we are more interested in is gathering smaller groups that actually get to know each other, and to come together to serve and grow together. We want to draw people back into the earliest church model. It's working in our other locations and we know it can here too.
What do you think about the current condition of the church?
This question is pretty simple to answer. We and millions of others want more. What we have seen is millions actually leave the church. They still love God and Jesus, but they don't see the church as a positive place to grow deeper into that relationship. They instead see judgement and hypocrisy. Some have been hurt by church. Some have felt like they just don't fit. Some have been made to feel like they need to "DO" something more. Overcome wants to get people to fall back in love with God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and with the need to gather as a community of people. We don't have the politics, the endless church committees, or the power structures that a lot of churches have. We are not personality pastors or people that stand on a pedestal. We are two people in our late fifties who know people want a real, authentic and abundant relationship with God. We are simply here to connect them with just that!
Do you have a plan or philosphy?
Our plan is more in the form of a question. What do you do well for one hour a week? This question is why we look at church a lot differently. Pastors have convinced us to come each Sunday to sit and give. They then promised to make us feel great through song, lights, and things that would delight our senses. We simply want to do the opposite. What if Sunday wasn't the thing we placed all our spiritual hope in? What if our walk during the other six days and 23 hours was more important? What if we could start living that relationship with Jesus as real followers? Don't get us wrong...worship is important, but it doesn't mean you have a real relationship with Jesus. Ask yourself how often you spend time with Jesus during the week. We asked ourselves that same question and that's why Overcome was born!
What do you do with the other locations on Sunday?
Well, this is the hard part. We love our church and so we drive up on Thursday or Friday to be with them and then drive back on Sunday or Monday to nurture the ministry here in Pensacola. It's not easy, but it's what we are called to do for now. The locations in Georgia have supported us beautifully and are praying for more locations to grow in other areas.
How many locations are there of Overcome?
Right now there are three expressions of Overcome. One in Canton, Peachtree City, and in a nursing home called Manor Lake. What we are hoping is that the next phase will be to develop leaders to help serve even more locations. We envision Overcome being a movement of love across the world. We hope to see that in our lifetime.
What is thing called 5-In-5?
5-in-5 is a model of service we think can ignite a heart. What if we could get 5 people serving in their 5 miles? What if we could draw a cirlce around an area in Pensacola, and then another five mile circle, and another, and another. What if we could could cover Pensacola with service? It really becomes a dynamic model if you think about it. Then we get to come together each week or month and celebrate it.
Hello Pensacola
It's so nice to meet you!

WORSHIP
We can't wait to worship with you at the BAYVIEW COMMUNITY CENTER ON THE DOCK! We will have some accoustic music with traditional and contemporary songs to sing. There will be a message that will inspire and challenge. We will also have a chance to cast the vision of Overcome and how we want to impact lives here in Pensacola!

SERVE (5-in-5)
We believe one thing is vital. Serving and using our gifts is critical at Overcome. Going to a worship does not make an impact on the community. Instead, going into the community sharing Jesus is what changes lives. We are doing just that and want to teach more how. It will be the greatest thing you ever did!

GROW
Growing in Christ is such a joy. Yet, we know so many have forgotten how to really do that. At Overcome we want to see everyone discover what a real relationship with Jesus looks like. When you do you will find a Savior that loves you, cares for you, and wants to GROW you into something incredible!
