3. Why Does The World Feel Broken?

Sometimes people ask, “If God exists, why is there so much suffering?”

That's a serious question.

The Bible doesn't give us a simplistic answer to every individual tragedy. But it does give us a bigger picture.

Paul says creation is groaning. Something is wrong with the world. We experience disease, natural disasters, aging and death. We also experience suffering caused by human beings—violence, abuse, greed, hatred, betrayal and war. Imagine dropping a rock into perfectly still water. The impact doesn't stay in one little spot. Ripples travel across the entire pond.

Scripture describes sin in a similar way.
