START NOW!

Below you are going to find a new rhythm, which will produce a new way to live.  It will get you thinking about how you start your day, how you live in your day, and how you can finish strong!  It will take a lot discipline, but it will be the most rewarding thing you ever do.  Let's jump in together!

YOUR DAILY SPIRITUAL CHECKLIST

STEP 1: Wake Up Early

Rise early to start your day with a sense of calm and quiet.  Take that deep breath.  Put two feet on the ground before you get out of bed.  Be thankful!

STEP 2: Morning Gratitude Practice

Begin your day by expressing gratitude for the blessings in your life. Reflect on the positive aspects of the previous day.  This will require a private space.  Decide where this will be and claim it.  Let there be no other excuses or distractions.  No kids, spouse, work, or worries will interfere with this time alone with God.

STEP 3: Morning Scripture And Prayer

Spend time in meditation or prayer, connecting with the divine. Focus on stillness and opening your heart to God.  Read a passage from your Bible  that inspires and guides you.

STEP 4: Giving Thanks

Practice giving thanks during meals, expressing gratitude for the nourishment provided.  When we thank God for the food that sustains us we begin to acknowledge the One who provided it.

STEP 5: Serve And Be Kind

Perform an act of kindness or service to others, recognizing the divine in everyone.  This becomes so important, because by doing this we begin to look outside of our needs to the needs of others.

STEP 6: Reflection Break

Take a short break to reflect on your thoughts and feelings. Consider how you can align your actions with what Christ is calling you to do for the day.  This will take surrender, an attitude of humility, and selflessness.

STEP 7: Nature Connection

Spend time in nature, appreciating the beauty of creation. Use this time for reflection and prayer.  By seeing and appreciating the little things we stop taking moments for granted.  Every moment is a gift from God.

STEP 6: Journaling

Reflect on your day in a journal. Write about moments of gratitude, challenges faced, and how you experienced God throughout the day.  Journaling trains our spirit to focus less on the physical and more on the spiritual moments during our day.

STEP 8: Evening Prayer

Engage in a more focused prayer or ritual in the evening, expressing your thoughts, concerns, and gratitude to God.  This will take discipline, a quiet place, and a time to be alone with God with no other distractions.

STEP 9: Evening Study

Read your bible!  This is critical as we end the day.  What we fill our mind with as the day ends sets the tone for how we begin the next.  When we end our day focused on God's Word and begin it in the same way amazing things happen!

STEP 10: Examination

Review your actions and behaviors throughout the day. Reflect on areas where you can improve and seek forgiveness.

STEP 11: Sleep

Go to bed with a peaceful mind, surrendering any worries to God.  Remember, the key is to tailor this routine to what the Holy Spirit is asking you to do.  If you are having trouble sleeping then engage in prayer or read scripture.
