I recall a gathering at a church named Zebulon. The name intrigued me, leading me to research its meaning. I discovered that Zebulon, a Hebrew name, signifies being exalted and greatly honored. This revelation resonated with my worship experience, where I felt uplifted and valued.
There I sat, waiting for the meeting to begin, and a praise band came out, and the band leader said to us all, "Welcome, it is time for us to feed YOU!" He meant that after all the church's work is done, the people are ministered to, and all the rest, it was high time we got fed, too! You know something, I needed it. It reminded me of something that I am constantly telling you, GOD LOVES YOU! Then I started to think about Zebulon - exalted and greatly honored. That is precisely what I felt like in worship last night. I felt lifted. I felt honored. I felt like God focused His love and attention on nothing but me, and you know something? IT WAS!
This experience was a powerful reminder that God lifts me and bestows upon me a special place of honor. His love for me is boundless. It's a reminder that my existence and life are honored and that God has paid an incredible price for me to enjoy them today. As I drove home, I was filled with renewed energy and excitement like never before. It reminded me of something extraordinary, something I hope never to forget GOD LOVES LIL' OLE ME TOO!
Now, what wouldn't you do for someone you love? How far would you go? How much would you sacrifice? I would lay down my life for Sherri. I would give it all to see her live a long and full life. But how far would you go for someone you didn't know? How much would you give then?
Let's keep that weird little word, ZEBULON, in our hearts for a while. We are exalted, lifted up, honored. But you know something incredible: God does the same for the least of the kingdom, too. You know something else - He asks us to do the same thing.
Let's consciously decide to make our world a little different today. Let's make it bigger, brighter, and more loving. Let's open our eyes to the needs around us and remember the incredible love God has shown us. Now, let's take that love and go into our community, family, and workplace and share it with others. Let's lift up, exalt, honor, feed, love, and minister to all we meet. I can't wait to experience this again on Sunday with all of you!
