Consistency. If we truly began to understand the strength that rests in that one word our lives would be limitless! In our spiritual life consistency is so vital Jesus tells us; “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” John 15:4-5.
The word “remain” is used 5 times in this passage. Remain means to “continue, await, endure, last, remain, persist, endure, hold, carry on”. Consistency in our relationship with our Lord is vital. If we feel depleted, frustrated, lost, anxious, etc. chances are we are inconsistent in our walk/relationship with our Lord. Just like our physical bodies depend on consistent nutrition and exercise to move about freely, our spirit needs the same consistency to strengthen and sustain us. When we remain consistent “abide” in our obedience to walk with Jesus (daily, even hourly) we understand the strength that comes from consistency and “remaining”.
We can see physical transformation when we are consistent with healthy nutrition and physical fitness. What if we remained consistent in our relationship with our Lord? What would that look like and what do you need to do to “abide” and “remain” consistent in the one relationship that will transform your life with every breath?
